The php is a programming language of computers interpreted freely and widely used to generate dynamic content on the World Wide Web, such as the creation-sites.com. The creation-site specializes in assembling sites in php as virtual stores (e-Commerce), forums, blogs, online courses and other systems with special features.
Php language appeared around 1994 as a pack of CGI programs created by Rasmus Lerdof, named Personal Home Page Tools to replace a set of Perl scripts he used in developing your personal page. In 1997 it launched the new package of language named PHP / FI, bringing the tool Forms Interpreter, a shell SQL.Later, Zeev Suraski developed the parser php 3 which featured the first use of object orientation, which gave power to achieve some packages, inheritance, and had only gave developers the ability to implement properties and methods.
Soon after, Zeev and Andi Gutmans, wrote the php 4, abandoning completely the php 3, giving more power to the machine language and greater resources than object orientation. The serious problem that had php 4 was to create copies of objects, because the language does not work with pointers or handlers, as are Java, Ruby and others.
The problem was resolved in the current version of PHP, version 5, which already works with handlers. If you copy an object actually copy a pointer, because if there is any change in the original object, all others also suffer the amendment, which was not the case in PHP 4.
This is a highly modularized language, making it ideal for installation and use on web servers. Several modules are created in the repository of PECL extensions (PHP Extension Community Library) and some of these modules are introduced as standard on new versions of the language. It is very similar, data types, syntax and even functions, with C and C + +. Maybe, depending on the configuration of the server, embedded in HTML code. There are versions of PHP available for the following operating systems: Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS, OS / 2, AS/400, Novell Netware, RISC OS, AIX, IRIX and Solaris.
Wikipedia works on a software written entirely in PHP, using MySQL databases: the MediaWiki.
Build a dynamic page-based databases is simple with PHP (in part, recall), this provides support to a large number of databases: Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, InterBase, MySQL, SQLite, MSSQL, Firebird, etc.. and may disregard the bank with the ADOdb library, among others.
PHP has support for protocols: IMAP, SNMP, NNTP, POP3, HTTP, LDAP, XML-RPC, SOAP. You can open sockets and interact with other protocols. And the third-party libraries further expand these features.
There are initiatives to use the PHP programming language as fixed systems. Most notable is the PHP-GTK. This is a set of PHP with the GTK library, ported from C + +, thus making software interoperable between Windows and Linux. In practice, this extension has been rarely used for real projects.
PHP is a programming language specific domain, ie, its scope extends to a playing field that is the web development, although variants such as PHP-GTK. Its main purpose is to implement web solutions fast, simple and efficient.
Features:
Speed and robustness
* Structured and object oriented
* Portability - platform independence - write once, run everywhere;
* Typing weak
* Language syntax similar to C / C + + and Perl
